1. The Gospel: The Good News of Jesus Christ
The foundation of the Christian faith is the Gospel, which means "Good News." It is the message of hope and salvation brought to us through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Gospel begins with the understanding that God created humanity in His image to live in relationship with Him (Genesis 1:27). However, sin entered the world through human disobedience, separating us from God's presence and bringing spiritual death (Romans 3:23).
Despite our sin, God’s love for us remained. He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to live a sinless life and die on the cross as a perfect sacrifice for our sins (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus took upon Himself the punishment we deserved so we could be forgiven and reconciled to God. Three days later, He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death once and for all (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
The Gospel invites us to believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, to trust in His finished work on the cross, and to receive Him as Lord and Savior. This message is not just information—it is an invitation to a transformed life. As John 3:16 declares, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
